- Apr 05, 2012 Homebrew installs the add-on tools into a location that won’t interfere with the normal OS X tools and if their names are the same, it will use the Homebrew one first. Homebrew will not mess up your Mac, but it might confuse someone else trying to work on your Mac.

| Hatari | Hatari is an Atari ST/STE/TT/Falcon emulator for GNU/Linux, BSD, Mac OS X, Windows and other systems which are supported by the SDL library. Unlike many other Atari ST emulators which try to give you a good environment for running GEM applications, Hatari tries to emulate the hardware of a ST as close as possible so that it is able to run most of the old ST games and demos. Hatari is open source software and is distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL). Hatari supports the emulation of most of the ST and STE hardware, including some special tricks like raster interrupts, border effects and PSG sample sound. A joystick can be emulated with the cursor keys or with a real PC joystick. Hatari also features the possibility to 'mount' a directory of the host system as a ST drive, or to use images from an original Atari's hard disk. Hatari is also able to emulate the additional hardware of the TT or Falcon machines, like the Videl video chip or the DSP 56001. However, note that TT and Falcon support are currently still in development and experimental. Hatari needs a fast machine (1 GHz or more for ST/STE emulation, > 2 GHz for Falcon emulation) which is running a POSIX compatible operating system (preferably GNU/Linux) that supports the SDL library. There are also some ports to other operating systems like macOS or Windows. |

FAST also reached ST emulation firsts: Emulation of the HD6301V1P at hardware level and redirection of the floppy disk controller to the PC hardware floppy disk controller. Basically, it does everything, it does it well, it does it fast, and it does it accurately. Definitely worth the download. |

Gemulator 2000 (the latest incantation of Gemulator) is one of the most complete Atari ST emulators there is. Supporting the Atari 400/800, the 800XL, the 130XE, Atari ST, Mega ST, STE and even the Macintosh Classic with full sound, you won't need to look around for a more complete emulator. |

| PaCifiST | PaCifiST is one of the best Atari ST emulators available. It's quite fast, as the CPU routines are done in assembly. It emulates the Atari ST's sound chip, keyboard, disk drives, the 68000 cpu, and all the rest. It also has an option to enable music through MIDI. In order to use this emulator, you need a copy of one of the versions of the Atari ST OS, TOS. You can download version 2.06 of the OS from Zophar's Domain.Version 0.49b requires 0.48 to allready be installed. It is an update patch. |
| SainT | Nice Atari ST emu for Windows...it has STFM/sync scrolling support, STE DAC support, raster/split raster effects, low/medium resolution, all YM2149 sound effects, WD1772 floppy/sound (the first to have sound support), ST and MSA disk image formats and it supports just about every version of Windows. Definitely worth a download. |

Run stonx2.exe for the version of TOS that is on Zophar's Domain. |
| TOSBOX | This emulator's CPU core was coded in assembly, and is faster than an actual ST on a P75. It has limited sound emulation, however, and is missing other key features that emulators like STonX and PaCifiST have. It also requires an image of the TOS OS. Emulator development has been discontinued. |
| WinSTon | This Atari ST emulator is pretty good, as it runs most Atari ST images, and does have sound support. However, it is a little slower than the other Atari ST emulators available. Also, it will only run with the TOS 1.00 OS image, which is available from Zophar's Domain. It must be named tos100.img. If you like Windows emulators, you might want to give this one a try. Project is no longer under active development. |

On its surface, Undertale doesn’t look very appealing. It just looked like your standard indie game coming from the idea mills of Kickstarter. Even the creator of Undertale was surprised about how quickly it rose to prominence. It stole the hearts of fans and critics alike by having a game that looks like you should kill things but doesn’t have you kill a single thing. It somehow took the best things about everyone’s favorite childhood title, Earthbound, and turned up the notch on the weirdness.
The Game Is One Giant Meme
Undertale came about with a comical EarthBound-style aesthetic at a time when everyone and their mother is trying to become a streamer. This, of course, led to viral internet memes that the average internet gamer can’t help but share. Playing through the game seems like it’s just the creator’s attempt to be the ultimate troll by telling one long joke and we’re just waiting for the punchline the whole time. At least the characters are very well-written.

One of the main appeals of the game is the fact that you don’t have to kill anything at all. Some have gone through the entire game without harming a fly. Instead of murdering every monster that stands in between you and your goals, you have to empathize with them. You have to understand why they’re standing in your way. It’s a challenge to a generation of gamers who grew up shooting, stabbing, or exploding their way through any obstacle. Of course, some of the pacifist techniques for clearing some monsters can get tedious but it’s definitely a challenge. It’s also nice to tap into your own morality and figure out exactly why a monster is getting in your way. You can beat your way through the game but you’ll be missing out on a lot of fun puzzles.

A Soundtrack Worth Remembering
You’re not going to remember much about a pixelated indie-game unless it has an amazing soundtrack to get you immersed.
Fortunately, the game figured out how to get classic video game music and marry it into modern sounds. There’s a lot of tracks that will have you clicking your fingers as you groove along to some cool, but pacifist, boss fights.
Some might feel Undertale is overrated but those are the ones who are just parroting people who believe hating popular things is a personality trait. Definitely, a game to try if you see it on sale.
